Happy Holidays!

I just wanted to pass along information about a Sensory Friendly performance that is happening this season. The Lone Tree Arts Center has an upcoming sensory friendly performance of Home for the Holidays that is modified to accommodate a wide variety of intellectual and developmental disabilities. They will be waving hands to show appreciation instead of clapping, lights will not be turned all the way down in the theater, doors will remain open throughout the performance, and the sound will be turned down. The primary goal of this performance is to offer a comfortable and nurturing environment for our patrons with sensitivities and their families.
Hope you have a wonderful holiday season and thank you for all of your support and sharing your wonderful children with us!

FEATURED ATHLETE & VOLUNTEERS OF THE MONTH

Athletes of the Month: Andrew

Andrew has been a part of the Therapeutic Recreation program since 2008. He engages in personal training sessions with Joe and says the best part of his sessions is, "Stretching my back, and the Good Morning stretch." Andrew's mother says, "Andrew has always been a friendly, fun loving guy but working out wasn't always his favorite thing. The TR program has really helped to develop a love of being healthy in Andrew, as well as, given him a place to participate in exercise that is tailored to his abilities and builds his confidence!"

Andrew is looking forward to going to the swimming pool, hanging out with his friends, and playing on the trampoline this summer. He loves sports, and the Broncos and can now name tons of muscles. Congrats Andrew for being such an outstanding athlete!

Volunteer of the Month: Special Olympics Swim Team Volunteers

Without the time and effort put forth by a fabulous group of volunteers the Special Olympics Swim Team would not be possible. The volunteers for Special Olympics Swim Team include; Abbie, Ali, Cody, Josh, Jacqi, Hannah, Karl, Jenn, Brian, Liesl, Carly, Mikaela, Theresa, and Kailee. Volunteers assist with perfecting swim technique, providing encouragement and direction, and ensuring that all 28 of the team stay safe and have fun!

Thank you Swim Team volunteers for making this program possible!!
